Graduation
Collection
My Final Major Project, 'The body's fluid movement in black and white' has been inspired by black and white silhouette photographers I have researched that have influenced the shapes and colour palette throughout the collection. The female form has many curves and shadows natural to it, photographers use of black and white to create synthetic illusions and textures projected onto the female form making use of shadows and fabrics. The collection has been designed based around the photography of Herb Ritts, Oliver Stalmans and Irving Penn. I choose to stay with the black and white colour palette using a variant of different textures of fabrics that when layers create unique silhouettes. As my collection has a simplistic colour palette I wanted to focus on making layered pieces that when put together have a fluid flow, movement on the body and unique silhouettes on each body type.
